My family has started writing poems everyday and sharing them before we go to bed. We take turns reading our poems and then someone chooses a different, random topic to write about for the next day. One of our topics recently was “house”. This is the poem that I wrote:

parlor, kitchen, flight of stairs

doorknobs, toilets, dining room chairs

ceiling fans and sliding glass door

living room with hard wood floor

our possessions liven up the place

Legos, paintings, flowers in a vase

through the house our pup will roam

a house with us is now a home

My family has been moving around a lot and even though we haven’t had a set house for long, when we are together we are at home. It has been really fun to write poetry more often, even if I don’t really know what I am doing… 😉

I am 19 years old. I would describe myself as a spunky and happy person. I love to read, draw, play the piano, and be outside. I love music, especially good ole classic rock. You can't go wrong with a saxophone and guitar solo in one song (i am looking at you Pink Floyd).
