This past week we learned about the story of Enoch.
It says that “We learn of Enoch’s humility, his insecurities, the potential God saw in him, and the great work he performed as God’s prophet”.
I will be the first to admit that I have had insecurities and trials through my life similar to Enoch.
In Moses 6:31-32 it states, “And when Enoch had heard these words, he bowed himself to the earth, before the Lord, and spake before the Lord, saying: Why is it that I have found favor in thy sight, and am but a lad, and all the people hate me; for I am slow of speech; where for am I thy servant? And the Lord said unto Enoch: Go forth and do as I have commanded thee, and no man shall pierce thee. Open thy mouth, and it shall be filled, and I will give the utterance, for all flesh is in my hands, and I will do as seemeth me good.”
As we talked about these scriptures in my young women’s class, my leader gave a good reference about what these scriptures might mean. She said if you were walking down a path with someone, where would you be walking? Right next to them, right?
That is what the Lord is doing for us. He is there with us every step of the way helping and guiding us. Things like, taking a test, performing in front of a crowd, giving a talk, being called as a class president, or anything else, are all things that the Lord is ready to help you with. He will be right there with you every step of the way!
Heavenly Father always wants to hear from us, he wants us to go to him and talk with him! I am so unbelievably grateful to have Heavenly Father as someone I can always go to no matter what! Even if I need help with something simple like finishing my small everyday goals, he is always there to help me with the things I need to do.
I had sort of a random thought while writing this and I was thinking about different people and their accomplishments, like famous actors, or authors, or famous sports players. I was thinking about how they got there and what they had to do to become what they are. As I pondered this I realized that whatever I become, if it is a famous actor, or a stay at home mom or anywhere in between, it is what I need to be doing! Heavenly Father has a plan for each and everyone of us and he isn’t just going to point us in a direction and say good luck. He, the Holy Ghost, and Jesus Christ, are all there guiding us and helping us to do the things we need to do.
I want to end with Moses 6:34, “Behold my Spirit is upon you, wherefore all thy words will I justify; and the mountains shall flee before you, and the rivers shall turn from their course; and thou shalt abide in me, and I in you; therefore walk with me”.
