Conference Fuel: The Best Chocolate Chip Cookies EVER

General Conference weekend is hands-down one of my favorite opportunities to spend time with my family.  We gather to listen and learn from inspired leaders, called of God.  Truly a feast for our souls.  After each session we discuss impressions we felt and truths that resonated in the messages….and nothing makes for better discussions than amazingly good cookies.   In fact, my family was feasting on these this very night and I’m sure we’ll have more tomorrow :).

Cream together: 3 sticks softened butter, 1 1/4 cup sugar, 1 1/4 cup dark brown sugar.

Add:  1 Tbs Mexican vanilla (normal vanilla is fine too :)), 2 eggs.

Combine, then gradually add:  1 tsp salt, 2 tsp baking soda, 4 cups flour.

Finally add:  12 oz. semi-sweet chocolate chips, 12 oz.  milk chocolate chips, 1 cup dark chocolate chips, 1-2 cups chopped pecans or walnuts (optional). (YES!!! THAT MUCH CHOCOLATE!!!)

Bake 10 minutes @ 350 degrees F.

To quote my sister in law who shared this gem with me a few years ago, “the name doesn’t lie”.  Happy sharing, listening, learning, growing, and feasting this weekend!!
