The retreat begins at 8:30 am and ends at 5:30 pm. If you’ve registered for the retreat and haven’t received email updates, please email rubygirlorg@gmail.com.
We’re so excited about our RETREAT coming up in just six weeks and thought you might like to know a little more about everything we’re doing that day. For those who have already registered, we’ll be sending you an email full of information in the next few days. For those of you who are still considering it– Please join us! — we have so many fun plans for the day.
The festivities start at 8:30 a.m. at LDS Business College where you can register, grab your SWAG bag (t-shirt, journal, lots of fun surprises), pick up some breakfast (cinnamon rolls, donuts, bagels, fruit, chocolate milk) and greet your friends.
At 9:00 we’ll all gather for a workshop on journaling– like the fun journals shown in the video. We’ll have washi tape and ribbons, fun quotes and images– we’d also like you to bring a favorite quote or image to share.
After journaling, you’ll have choice of different workshops:
Calligraphy
Photography (beginner and advanced)
Videography
Writing for Publication
Floral Design (beginner and advanced)– you’ll be making boutonnieres and flower crowns as well as learning how to make a great arrangement and an optional class for learning to make wrist corsages. We know girls who have funded service projects by making bouts and corsages for school dances and we want you to have the same opportunity.
Family History
Painting/watercolor classes
Journaling+
You’ll be able to choose three classes and each one will be held at least twice. We have some AMAZING teachers– world class photographers, writers and artists, a Temple Square florist.
Between classes, we’ll gather together for lunch (Chick-fil-A), a service project and a short workshop on scripture journaling. Don’t worry about going hungry– we’ll have a snack table open all day with fruit, bagels and such. The clothing exchange will also take place during the lunch hour.
Here’s how the exchange works: contribute your outgrown/outloved clothing, you’ll receive 10 tickets to exchange for 10 items, once everyone has redeemed their tickets, take anything else you like. You DON’T need to contribute 10 items to receive 10 tickets– we already have a bags and bags FULL of super cute clothes donated by some of our favorite stylish girls.
After lunch, you’ll be able to attend two more classes of your choice and then we’ll gather together during the last hour for “the Happiness Project.” At 5:30 the building closes and we will bid you all goodbye.
See you soon!
Two ticket options:
All-day attendee: $50 (includes three meals, t-shirt, journal, workshop materials and all activities)
Virtual attendee: $30 (includes t-shirt, journal, workshop materials and access to video feed)
You can use the form below to register, or go to the RETREAT page. We only have room for 100, so register soon!

July 25, 2016 at 5:30 pmI think I will! Is the trip to the temple for baptisms for the dead (in case we need to wear Sunday apparel)? Would it take the place of some of the classes?
It sounds like so much fun. I can’t wait to come!!!
