A Little Bird told Me

Recently, I came across this quote and I love it so much that I painted this little picture.bird quote

Most mornings you will hear lots of birds chirping and tweeting about as they fly around looking for berries and insects. You probably know that not every bird has the most beautiful song. On the contrary, lots of birds songs are loud and annoying. I think that this quote is true. Everything would be quiet if only the most beautiful songs were sung.

While thinking of this quote this scripture came to mind:

“For all have not every gift given unto them; for there are many gifts, and to every man is given a gift by the Spirit of God.”  -D&C 46:11

Everyone has spiritual and physical gifts. Doctrine and Covenants 46:11-26 names many gifts that God has given to us, His children. Some people have wisdom and others can heal. Our gifts are given to us to help others.

Most people know the parable of the talents. Click here if you would like to watch the Bible Video telling the story of the talents. It is okay to be different because we each have been blessed with different gifts. Life would be boring if every bird sang the same song. You are the best at being you.

The Lord has given us gifts and blessings to become better and help others. So don’t be afraid to be yourself, because Heavenly Father created you to be YOU!

What gifts do you have? Why are you grateful for that gift? How will you use that gift to help others?

I am 19 years old. I would describe myself as a spunky and happy person. I love to read, draw, play the piano, and be outside. I love music, especially good ole classic rock. You can't go wrong with a saxophone and guitar solo in one song (i am looking at you Pink Floyd).

Love this thought! Thank you. I always tell my kids, “A song is a prayer of the heart so don’t criticize my singing!”

This is a great message. We each have gifts and at varying degrees. Instead of comparing ourselves with one another, we can each “sing” with gratitude.
