Dessert!! Also known as my favorite part of every meal! As someone who loves simple desserts that I can make quickly (and let’s be honest, I make dessert almost every day), here is my favorite dessert recipe:

  • 10 Tbsp. butter
  • 1⁄4 C. Sugar
  • 3C. + 2 Tbsp. Cocoa Powder
  • 1⁄4 Rounded tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 2 Large Eggs
  • 1C. Flour

Preheat the oven to 325° F. Line an 8×8 inch pan with parchment paper or butter it.

In a medium sauce pan, bring 1-2 inches of water to “barely simmering.” In a medium, heat-safe bowl, combine the butter, sugar, cocoa powder, and salt. Place the bowl on the sauce pan (If the water is touching the bowl, remove some water from the pan). Stir occasionally until the butter is melted and the mixture is quite warm. It’s okay if it looks gritty. Remove from heat and let sit for 3-5 minutes until warm (NOT HOT). With a wooden spoon, stir in the vanilla, then add the eggs one at a time stirring after each egg. When it looks thick and well blended, add the flour. Stir until fully incorporated, and then beat with wooden spoon 40-50 more strokes (to fully incorporate). Spread evenly in the pan and bake for 20-25 minutes. Cool, cut, and serve!

This recipe is super easy and the brownies are very rich and stay soft for a few days after they are made.

I am never on time and I always have room for pizza and dessert. When I’m not swamped with school, music (piano and flute) and soccer, I love exploring Salt Lake, hanging out with my friends and spending time with my three siblings. I don’t believe in leaving my house without a smile because I know that my Heavenly Father loves me and created me to have joy!
